On the 11th of February, 2023, my wife of
nearly 44 years, known affectionately as Mama
Jean, passed away from a massive heart attack.
I am, of course, devastated, shattered, and
nearly dysfunctional in this world. And, since
I have some rather serious and immediate
health concerns of my own, it is my sincere
belief that God will also be calling me home
to the next world to be with Mama Jean
shortly. The time has come, therefore, to
cease publishing RNJ, and with this update, it
is finished.
This incarnation of this web site began in
March of 2020, just as the pandemic was
breaking upon the world, and this seemed to me
to hold the possibility of being the first
chord struck in what would, eventually, become
the symphony of the apocalypse. Since
following alternative points of view had been
a passion of mine since the Kennedy
assassination, I began posting those six
independent news stories everyday that I
thought best exemplified that the end of the
world was nigh well at hand, and that has
continued up to this very day. All of it is
retained in our news archives, and it remains
as a unique time capsule of this period in
history when the world changed so much.
At the end of March in that same year, "The
Sixth Hour" began as a five-day-a-week
podcast, broadcast from a mythical shortwave
pirate radio station named Radio New
Jerusalem. A total of 732 original episodes
were produced, and they are archived here as
well. "The Sixth Hour" was spun off from an
earlier program called "Red Pills for Jesus,"
which introduced the world to Chaplain Phil,
Brian Helix, and the always lovely and
enchanting, Sally
Belle-Époque. It too is available in the
archives. "The Sixth Hour" was conceived
as a kid's show for adults, aimed at our
own adult children, all of whom were being
pulled in different directions by the
events of the day, as we all were. For
three years these programs were produced
with the idea in mind that, when we had
passed, they would take on a new poignancy
and greater meaning, as they represent the
happy world of Chaplain Phil and Mama
Jean, as it existed then, and as witnessed
through the prism of RNJ. Mama Jean
doesn't appear in the programs, but the
programs exist because of the loving
support she gave this project from start
to finish.
So, that's the story of Radio New
Jerusalem. Please enjoy the content and
know that it was all crafted with love,
and with the hope and prayer that someday,
in someway, it might serve the greater
glory of God, and tell our children just
how very much we love them.
In Christ's love and ours, this is Chaplain
Phil, speaking also on behalf of Mama Jean,
and urging one and all to continue to say your
prayers. And, as always, thank you for
listening!
